I'm Hullahopp, the lead developer of Tenebris Colosseum!
Today I'm sharing some updates regarding our post jam update.
First, let's talk about bugs. We had a few 😅
We fixed the AI pushing you way too far! You'll be able to safely approach them, and do some sabotaging, if you so wish!
You will no longer "fall" when you get attacked by an AI. Turns out, gravity was never disabled to the player character!
We fixed an issue with the AI not forgetting items it previously found. That's right, if it saw an item on the other side of the map at any point, it never left it's pool of items to consider picking up. But that's fixed now!
There was a reverse calculation that got fixed. In the Jam build, the AI goes for the *farthest* available item, not the closest. Consider it fixed!
The AI wasn't switching to Idle animations properly. This was a misunderstanding on how we handle Velocity on the AI. But it is fixed now! Enjoy our characters idly standing by!
Alright, next is all about game balance!
We heard all of you, and we agree. The game is a bit too fast right now, and it's hard to understand what exactly is going on. We begun rebalancing the game. Post jam, you can expect the AI to not be so spammy with the monsters.
We also simplified the AI's Item Searching logic. This means that they will no longer walk by important items that you yourself would prioritize picking up.
More on balancing, we are well aware that the gameplay has to slow down a little. We're still considering our options, expect to hear more from us the future!
We also heard your feedback on spectating. We understand that watching your monsters fight is a key component of auto battler games, and we're working on solutions that help you with doing just that!
Codex will be added post jam! This was a heavily requested feature, and although it was planned by us, we ran out of time during the jam. But now it's here! Check this out!
You'll be able to learn more about how to summon each monster, as well as what their base stats are. We also want to add abilities to this display in future updates, but they need to be refactored first 😅
